SDH / SEMI 2006 Conference Programme
May 29 - 31, 2006 - York University

The Society for Digital Humanities is grateful for the financial support that it, and its partner, the Canadian Committee for History and Computing, have received for the special symposium: The Computer: The Once and Future Medium for the Social Sciences and the Humanities. The symposium, which will be held the second day of the conference, is devoted to present and emerging applications of computing in the humanities and the social sciences.

SDH/SEMI and the CCHC would like to thank the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Canada Foundation for Innovation, and Brock University for their financial support of the symposium, which will be held May 30, 2006 at Vanier College, 135, starting at 8:30 a.m.

The Society for Digital Humanities would like to thank Open Sky Solutions, the journal Text Technology, and the Humanities Hypermedia Centre at Acadia University for their financial support for the coffee breaks and reception for this year's conference.

Coffee breaks and receptions are essential parts of any conference. They provide delegates with a chance to relax, to exchange views, to laugh, to have a little fun, to gossip, to argue, and in short, to do all the things that scholars are supposed to do at conferences. We're grateful to these organizations for their role in providing the coffee that will wake us, the caffeine that will stimulate us, and the food and drink that will inspire us.
